Anni Marandi
Anni Marandi is a tribal girl in Chadradeepa village in Jamtara block of Jamtara district. Like her village fellows, she was blank as far as nutrition and diet were concerned, nor did she know about anything about menstruation hygiene and care. She was also not aware of the facilities available at anganwadi.
When Badlao Foundation launched Prayas project in her village with the support of CINI organisation, she got associated with the project. She started participating in monthly meetings called by the project. Soon she became well aware of nutrition, diet and malnutrition.
In an interaction she recalled quality of grains available with public distribution system was not good and anganwadi centres did not function as intended. She lamented midday meals given to children in the schools lacked nutrients.
Now Anni is making all out efforts to create awareness among women and girls of her age and contributing to the project.
