AGRICULTURE | Wadi Programme

WADI Project has been designed for the Livelihood improvement of the tribal through adoption of Integrated approach through comprenhsive Tribal Development Pogrammes. The project design is based on family approach and centered on the development of WADI( Orchard) for the improvement of their livelihoods. The operational area is 4 panchayats of Jamtara block. The main goal of the program is to ensure that livelihood and food security of 300 poor tribal households are sustainably improved through promoting a more efficient equitable self-managed and sustainable exploitation of their natural resources i.e. land, water & man power at their disposal and through off farm/non-farm enterprise development. The major horticulture species plants are Mango, Guava and Lemon where as the major forestry species plant under Wadi are Gamhar, Sagwan, Neem, Bamboo and Arjun.
