Area of Operation

Badlao Foundation works amongst the rural population. Its primary constituencies include Santhal and Paharia communities, OBC, Minorities, Dalits and particularly the tribals; the families living “Below Poverty Line”.

By 2002 its activities were spread in 381 villages in 17 blocks of 6 districts of Santhal Paragana of Jharkhand

By 2003 it extended irts activities to 481 villages. In addition to the headquarters at Mihijam, the Foundation has four extension centers in Kewatjali, Jamtara district, Machkol in Dumka district, Karanpura in Deoghar district and Domdih in Godda district

By 2007 the organization has expanded its operational base.

In 2011 it covers 534 villages of 21 blocks in six districts; Deoghar, Dumka, Jamtara, Godda, Sahebganj and Pakur of Santhal Paraganas division of Jharkhand state.

  • Currently, we operates in more than 900 villages in 21 blocks of Deoghar, Dumka, Jamtara, Godda, Pakur, & Sahibganj districts of the Santhal Pargana division, Jharkhand

  • Working for the Santhali & Paharia tribes, dalits, minorities & other backward castes.

  • Till today more than 700 Mahila Sabha ( SHGs) have been formed in all the operational districts of Santhal Paragana division .

  • More than 10,000 women members have been associated with the Mahila Sabha Groups.

  • Mahila Sabhas has been conglomerated in federations at district level . Till today 6 Mutual Benefit Trusts (MBTs) have been formed and out of 6 MBTs, 5 MBTs have been registered under Indian Trust Act 1882.
